New filters on channel pages easily separate member-exclusive and public content.

YouTube has rolled out a suite of new features aimed at boosting creator visibility and enhancing content discovery for viewers. The latest updates include significant enhancements to the 'Hype' program and the introduction of new content filters for channel pages, making it easier for fans to support emerging creators and for members to access exclusive content.
Hype Feature Gets a Boost
The 'Hype' feature, first introduced at Google's Made On YouTube event in 2024, is now available globally and has been expanded to allow viewers to actively promote videos from creators with fewer than 500,000 subscribers. Each viewer can hype up to three videos per week, giving those videos a boost in visibility and helping them climb the new Hype leaderboard.
- Viewers can now share their hype as a public post on their channel and in the community tab, making it easier to spotlight content they love.
- Category leaderboards have been added, allowing users to discover hyped videos in specific niches such as gaming, beauty, and food.
- The feature is currently available on mobile, with plans to expand to desktop in the near future.
Members-Only and Public Content Filters
YouTube has also introduced new filter chips on channel pages, enabling users to sort content by "Members-only" and "Public" for videos, Shorts, and live streams. This update makes it easier for paying members to quickly find exclusive content, while public viewers can browse only the content available to everyone.
- Previously, only "Latest," "Popular," and "Oldest" filters were available, so this change improves content organisation and accessibility.
- The filters are currently available on smartphones, with a broader rollout expected soon.
Additional Features
- Comment summaries are now available in the YouTube Studio mobile app, helping creators quickly review community feedback without scrolling through hundreds of comments.
- YouTube is also testing new features like category leaderboards for hyped videos and plans to introduce paid hypes in the future, offering a new revenue stream for creators.
