London-based smartphone brand Nothing appears to be preparing to expand its handset lineup. Following the success of the Phone (2a), new leaks suggest that the company’s upcoming budget-friendly model, possibly named Nothing Phone (3a) Lite, could launch shortly.

Spotted on Geekbench

A device from Nothing, carrying the model number A001T, has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, lending credibility to rumours about the imminent launch. The listing indicates the handset will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and running Android 15 straight out of the box.

In Geekbench testing, the device recorded a single-core score of 1003 and a multi-core score of 2925, indicating mid-range performance aimed at efficient and smooth daily usage.

Expected specifications

Earlier leaks suggest the Phone (3a) Lite may arrive in a single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Despite the “Lite” designation, the device is expected to retain Nothing’s iconic transparent design and Glyph LED interface, though likely with fewer lighting zones to keep costs down.

The Dimensity 7300 chipset is built on a 4nm process and includes 4x Cortex-A78 cores at 2.5GHz alongside 4x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. While slightly less powerful than the Dimensity 7200 Pro in the Nothing Phone (2a), it is more energy-efficient, signalling that battery life could be a key selling point for this model.

Design and expected launch

In terms of design, the Phone (3a) Lite is likely to continue Nothing’s minimalist approach, with flat edges, uniform bezels, and a centrally positioned rear camera module.

Although Nothing has not officially confirmed a release date, the Geekbench listing hints that the launch could be near. With its combination of understated design, dependable performance, and a potentially lower price tag, the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite could be an attractive choice in the mid-range 5G segment.
