Nothing has finally released the final look of its Nothing Ear (3) earbuds, unveiling a charging case that introduces a fresh design only days before the product’s launch on September 18. The London-based brand shared the complete appearance after gradually teasing partial views of the device over the past few weeks. The new design brings several upgrades compared to the Ear 2, which debuted in 2023.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nothing wrote, “Offbeat looks. Stronger signal. Material difference. Ear (3)”.

Here’s what we know so far about the new truly wireless earbuds.

Nothing Ear (3) Earbuds: Refined charging case design

The most noticeable update is to the charging case. Unlike the transparent plastic frame seen on the Nothing Ear 2, the new Ear (3) earbuds case features a metallic finish, giving it a sturdier and more refined look. The earlier grooves that showcased the earbuds through a clear plastic shell are replaced by sleek metal sections, resulting in a more squared-off case design. Nevertheless, the brand has retained the transparent lid, a signature touch that remains consistent with its aesthetic approach.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, Nothing had earlier confirmed that the case is crafted from 100 percent recycled anodised aluminium. This choice not only boosts durability but also reduces plastic usage, reflecting the company’s efforts to integrate eco-friendly materials into its TWS earbuds lineup.

Nothing Ear (3) Earbuds: New talk button and earbuds design

The earbuds themselves continue to feature the iconic transparent stems but now include metallic accents throughout their structure. Sources suggest that Nothing has optimised the internal metal antenna, allowing for a slimmer build without compromising performance. This adjustment is expected to enhance wireless connectivity while keeping the earbuds lightweight and compact.

A key highlight of the Nothing Ear (3) earbuds is the introduction of a new ‘Talk’ button on the front of the charging case. While the standard pairing button remains inside, the purpose of this new button has not been fully explained. The company has confirmed that the case now houses a “Super Mic” microphone, which may work in conjunction with the Talk button to enhance voice clarity or enable new functionality.
