Thiruvananthapuram: The 'Digi Kerala' project, aimed at making Kerala the first state to achieve complete digital literacy, will focus on four core areas. The training curriculum of the National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) has been tweaked for the same. There will be three clusters too.

Core area 1: Basics of smartphones- handling calls and sms, relevance of OTP, managing dialler and contacts and use of camera, file manager and media player.

Core area 2: Google Play Store, use of various apps and sending of messages in the form of pictures, document files, and voice notes, use of social media, video conferencing, online meeting and etiquette to be followed.

Core area 3: UPI transactions, online payment, web surfing, video search and information-gathering techniques.

Core area 4: Introduce individuals to various e-governance facilities like citizen portal, Chief Ministers Public Grievance Redressal Cell, and e-district service. Training for online payment of KSEB-KWA bills and online booking of buses and trains.  

Workers employed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) will be provided training. They are categorised under a special group. Similarly, digitally literate individuals will be roped in as trainers.
