Singh had not actively managed the account recently due to his professional commitments.

Aligarh: Police in northern India launched a cyber investigation Friday after the Facebook account of national cricketer Rinku Singh was allegedly compromised by hackers.
Authorities in Singh’s hometown of Aligarh stated that it is currently unclear whether the breach involved financial fraud or the unauthorised solicitation of funds. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Neeraj Kumar confirmed that the middle-order batsman personally reached out earlier this week to report the loss of control over his social media profile.
Following the initial alert, the athlete's brother, Sonu Singh, filed a formal written complaint with the city’s cyber cell on Wednesday to initiate a criminal probe.
According to investigators, Singh had not been actively managing the account for several months due to a demanding professional schedule. "It is not clear when exactly the account was hacked. The cyber crime cell has initiated a detailed investigation into the matter," SSP Kumar said.
Specialists within the cyber unit are currently working to pinpoint the digital origin of the breach and determine if the account was misused for deceptive activities during the period it was out of the cricketer's possession.
