Aden: Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (STC) announced a night-time curfew in Aden, the seat of Yemen’s government, from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am (1800 GMT to 0300 GMT). The measure was declared by STC deputy leader Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, who oversees forces patrolling the city.

The curfew comes amid escalating tensions between separatist forces and pro-Saudi military units. Officials have cited security concerns and the potential for clashes as the reason for the restriction on movement. Residents have been advised to remain indoors during curfew hours, and local authorities are enforcing the order to maintain order.

Aden, Yemen’s key southern port city, has frequently been a flashpoint in the ongoing Yemeni conflict, with power struggles between separatists, government loyalists, and coalition-backed forces creating a volatile security environment.
