US President Donald Trump has escalated his war of words with late-night television, targeting not only Jimmy Kimmel, whose show was recently suspended, but also fellow hosts Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, whom he dubbed “two total losers” in a recent social media post.

Trump took to his platform, Truth Social, to celebrate the indefinite suspension of Kimmel’s show, calling it “great news for America” and accusing Kimmel of having “zero talent.” He then broadened his criticism, singling out Fallon and Meyers for their own poor ratings and vocal criticism of his presidency.

Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon, known for his light-hearted humour, recently took aim at Trump during the president’s visit to the UK. Fallon joked that Trump loves Britain because “when he holds a little tea sandwich, his hands look normal-sized.” He also made fun of Trump’s rapport with King Charles, quipping that both men “bonded because they both know what it's like to inherit everything they have” and “spend all day on the throne.” Fallon’s comedic jabs extended to First Lady Melania Trump as well, remarking that Buckingham Palace guards “try to make her smile” during their visit.

Seth Meyers

Seth Meyers has been more pointed in his criticism, recently mocking Trump’s foreign policy stance regarding Russia. On his September 16 show, Meyers compared Trump’s conditional approach to sanctions on Russia to teenage peer pressure, saying Trump’s promise to act was basically, “I’ll do it first if you do it first.” Meyers also ridiculed Trump’s writing style on social media, likening it to a scam email filled with “uneven grammar and syntax.”
