President Donald Trump met with top national security advisers amid growing tensions between Israel and Iran

Washington DC: United States President Donald Trump has convened his National Security Council in the White House’s Situation Room to evaluate US options amid escalating conflict between Israel and Iran. According to administration officials, military intervention is among the possible courses of action under consideration.
On social media, Trump said the United States knows the location of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei but has “chosen not to act”—before declaring “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” in a separate post.
The remarks come as Israeli airstrikes targeted multiple high-value Iranian sites, including nuclear and weapons production facilities. The UN atomic agency confirmed a direct hit on the underground enrichment halls at Natanz, Iran’s primary nuclear complex. The Israeli military also reported striking a centrifuge manufacturing facility in Tehran.
A US official noted that Israel is running low on Arrow interceptors, crucial for defending against long-range missiles, raising concerns over Israel's continued capacity to repel sustained Iranian attacks.
Meanwhile, Iran’s death toll from Israeli strikes has reportedly climbed above 450, according to a human-rights monitoring group. In Israel, at least 24 people have been killed by retaliatory Iranian attacks.
Although the White House has stated that the US is not currently participating in Israeli strikes, the Pentagon has reinforced its regional posture. A third Navy destroyer has entered the eastern Mediterranean, and a second US carrier strike group is en route to the Arabian Sea. While officially described as “defensive,” the military buildup positions the US for rapid escalation if Trump orders intervention.
Trump also held a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday.
In Europe, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz remarked that Israel is “doing the dirty work” for the rest of the world by targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
As tensions escalate, global concerns are growing over the risk of broader war in the Middle East.
