Millions participated in these largely peaceful demonstrations across the US, voicing dissent against Trump's policies

Washington: US President Donald Trump on Sunday shared an AI-generated video on Truth Social that showed him piloting a fighter jet emblazoned with the words “King Trump,” dumping mud over crowds of “No Kings” protestors gathered in what appeared to be New York’s Times Square.
The 19-second clip, which also depicted social media influencer Harry Sisson among those doused in mud, quickly went viral as the massive “No Kings Protest” swept across the United States.
According to CNN, roughly seven million people joined the demonstrations nationwide — two million more than the first wave of protests held in June this year. The rallies, spanning over 2,700 cities and towns, saw participants voicing opposition to President Trump’s administration and policies.
Authorities described the protests as largely peaceful, with no reports of violence or arrests. In Chicago — the focal point of Trump’s immigration crackdown — demonstrators carried placards reading “Hands Off Chicago,” waving upside-down U.S. flags alongside Mexican and Pride banners. Los Angeles saw protestors dressed in inflatable costumes and waving American flags, while in Washington, D.C., federal workers joined Day 18 of the government shutdown by marching down Pennsylvania Avenue, calling for calmer political discourse.
Amid the unrest, the White House amplified the President’s defiant image, sharing on X a screenshot of Trump wearing an Emperor’s crown.
The demonstrations come during a period of heightened political strain marked by a federal government shutdown and partisan gridlock over the funding bill. While Democratic leaders voiced support for the protests, many Republican lawmakers dismissed them as “anti-American.”
