Intense US-Israeli airstrikes on Iran’s central city of Isfahan have triggered massive explosions, with dramatic visuals showing towering columns of fire lighting up the night sky.

Witnesses described a series of powerful blasts that shook residential areas and military-linked sites, sparking widespread panic across the city of over 2.3 million people.

Videos circulating online captured flames rising high above the skyline, suggesting direct hits on strategic locations, including areas near military infrastructure such as the Badr airbase.

The latest strikes are part of an escalating offensive that has seen repeated targeting of key Iranian facilities over the past month.

Iranian authorities have previously reported civilian casualties in Isfahan, including women and children, following similar attacks on residential neighbourhoods.

The city has also witnessed strikes on research and industrial sites, underlining its strategic importance in Iran’s military and technological network.

The renewed bombardment comes amid a spiralling conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel, marked by retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the region.

With each side intensifying operations, fears are growing of a wider regional war, as key cities like Isfahan increasingly become focal points in the high-stakes confrontation.
