For the first time since the war began, Russian forces have entered Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region

Moscow: Russian troops have entered Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region for the first time, according to The Times, marking a significant symbolic and strategic expansion of the war. The new offensive is being led by a tank division from Russia’s Battlegroup Center.
This development aligns with a broader push by Moscow, which is also intensifying assaults in the Donetsk and Sumy regions. These escalations come as peace negotiations remain deadlocked.
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, warned Kyiv of “new realities” on the battlefield. He stated that continued refusal to engage in negotiations would bring “further consequences,” suggesting deeper incursions may follow.
The move into Dnipropetrovsk represents both a geographic shift and a psychological blow, as it targets a region previously untouched by ground combat. Military analysts say it could be aimed at testing Ukraine’s stretched defences amid war fatigue and mounting civilian displacement.
Tensions continue to rise across multiple fronts, as the war shows no sign of de-escalation.
