New Delhi: In a serious development that raises questions about Pakistan's anti-terror claims, new intelligence reports have revealed that Islamabad is helping Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) rebuild its destroyed headquarters in Muridke using flood relief funds.

The original LeT base, known as Markaz Taiba, was destroyed by the Indian Air Force (IAF) during Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025. The precision airstrike targeted and flattened key buildings inside the complex, including training facilities, weapons storage areas, and accommodation blocks for LeT members.

Despite this setback, LeT has now started rebuilding the site with full support from Pakistan's establishment, according to recent intelligence inputs.

According to sources, the Pakistan government has already allocated PKR 4 crore for the rebuilding effort. Lashkar leaders estimate that the total cost of reconstruction will be over PKR 15 crore.

The project is being supervised by senior LeT commanders Maulana Abu Zar and Yunus Shah Bukhari, with the aim to complete the rebuild by February 5, 2026—just in time for the group's annual Kashmir Solidarity Day event.

What’s more alarming is that LeT is raising additional funds for reconstruction through fake flood relief campaigns. Intelligence reports suggest that the group is collecting money from civilians by claiming it’s for flood victims, but the funds are actually going toward reviving the terror camp.

This tactic isn’t new. In 2005, LeT’s front organisation Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) collected money for earthquake victims, but almost 80% of those funds were diverted to build militant camps.

Markaz Taiba: A terror factory

Markaz Taiba, Muridke, not only serves as residences to major commanders of the outfits but also serve as epi-centre for radicalization and various training courses on intelligence, arms handling etc.

Markaz Taiba, established in the year 2000, is the 'alma mater' and the most important training centre of LeT located in Nangal Sahdan, Muridke, Sheikhupura, Punjab, Pakistan. The complex held arms and physical trainings facility, as well as dawa'h and radicalisation for terror entities both from within Pakistan and abroad.

This Markaz enrols around 1000 students in different courses annually thereby highlighting the role of this Markaz in churning out terror entities for LeT annually. Osama Bin Laden had financed Rs 10 million for construction of Mosque and Guest House within the Markaz Taiba complex.

At the behest of Pakistan's ISI, all the perpetrators of 26/11 Mumbai attack including Ajmal Kasab were imparted 'Daura-e-Ribbat' (intelligence training) at this facility. David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana, the prime conspirators of 26/11 Mumbai attacks, had visited Muridke along with Abdul Rehman Sayed @ Pasha, Haroon and Khurram (co-conspirators) on instructions of Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
