The Trump administration has unveiled a limited-edition US passport featuring US President Donald Trump's portrait to commemorate America's 250th anniversary, making him the first sitting US president to appear on the country's passport.
The United States has introduced a limited-edition commemorative passport featuring President Donald Trump as part of celebrations marking the country's 250th anniversary of independence.
The new design, unveiled by the Trump administration, includes an image of the president at the Resolute Desk with the Declaration of Independence in the background and his signature printed below. The opposite page features artwork depicting the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 alongside the inscription "United States of America 250."
Available from July 6
According to the US State Department, the commemorative passports will be available from July 6 while supplies last.
Unlike regular passports, the special edition cannot be obtained through online or mail applications. Interested US citizens must schedule an in-person appointment at the Washington Passport Agency or attend designated passport acceptance events where the commemorative document is being offered.
Officials said more passport acceptance events may be announced in the coming weeks.

First sitting president featured on a US passport
The commemorative edition marks the first time a living, sitting US president has been featured on an American passport.
Current US passports generally showcase important moments in the nation's history, including the Moon landing, alongside iconic national symbols such as the Statue of Liberty.
It remains unclear whether applicants visiting the Washington Passport Agency will have the option to request a standard passport instead of the commemorative edition.
Trump shares the design
President Trump shared images of the redesigned passport on his Truth Social platform, writing: "The U.S.A.'s New Passport, which says, 'Welcome, but be good!'"
However, the phrase quoted by Trump does not appear on the passport pages shown in the released images.
The White House also posted the design on social media, describing it as a "Patriot Passport."
The passport forms part of a broader programme marking America's 250th anniversary.
Earlier this year, the administration also announced plans for commemorative gold coins featuring President Trump as part of the nationwide celebrations.
The special passport is expected to remain a limited-release collector's edition and will only be available while supplies last.
