US President Donald Trump has doubled down on his stance, warning Tehran of further military action if peace is not restored swiftly.

Tehran: As tensions spiral in the Middle East, a top Iranian official has called for immediate missile strikes on the US naval fleet stationed in Bahrain, along with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz to American and European vessels.
The warning, issued by Hossein Shariatmadari, managing editor of the hard-line Kayhan newspaper and a close confidant of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, comes in direct response to recent US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
"It is now our turn to act without delay. As a first step, we must launch a missile strike on the US naval fleet in Bahrain and simultaneously close the Strait of Hormuz to American, British, German, and French ships," Shariatmadari was quoted as saying in Sunday’s edition of Kayhan.
This follows a stern warning from Supreme Leader Khamenei himself, who earlier cautioned the United States of "severe consequences" for its military intervention.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has doubled down on his stance, warning Tehran of further military action if peace is not restored swiftly. In his first public address following the precision strikes on three key Iranian nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—Trump said, “There are many targets left. Tonight was the most difficult of them all, and perhaps the most lethal.”
Trump praised the execution of the mission and the unmatched capabilities of the US military. “Most of them can be taken out in a matter of minutes. There’s no military in the world that could’ve done what we did tonight,” he said, adding that more targets remain on standby if diplomacy fails.
He also announced that US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force General Dan Caine, would address the media from the Pentagon on Sunday.
Trump concluded by thanking the Israeli military for its support and lauding American forces: “I want to congratulate the great American patriots who flew those magnificent machines tonight... an operation the likes of which the world has not seen in many, many decades.”
