Iran has reportedly escalated its rhetoric against the United States and Israel by discussing a controversial €50 million “reward bill” targeting US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Tehran: As war tensions continue to shake West Asia, Iran has now reportedly taken its rhetoric against the United States and Israel to a dramatic new level.
Iranian lawmakers are said to be discussing a controversial proposal that would place a massive €50 million reward on US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, triggering fresh global alarm over how far the regional conflict could escalate.

Iranian lawmakers are reportedly discussing a proposal that would formally offer a €50 million reward for the assassination of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to multiple international reports, the proposed legislation is being framed as a “counter-action” measure following the February military strikes on Iran that reportedly killed former supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
The proposal marks one of the most aggressive escalations in public rhetoric between Iran, the United States and Israel in recent years.
Iranian officials link proposal to February strikes
Reports claim the proposal is being led by Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Committee.
According to the reported draft framework, Iran considers Trump, Netanyahu and US Central Command officials responsible for the strikes that targeted Iranian leadership and infrastructure.
Another Iranian lawmaker, Mahmoud Nabavian, reportedly stated that parliament could soon vote on a financial reward for anyone who “sends Trump and Netanyahu to hell,” further intensifying international concern.
From rhetoric to proposed legislation
Analysts note that threats against Trump have surfaced repeatedly in Iran since the killing of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in 2020.
However, the latest development is viewed differently because it reportedly moves beyond online propaganda, public speeches and religious decrees into the realm of formal parliamentary discussion.
Over recent years, several Iran-linked groups and campaigns have also publicly claimed to raise money targeting Trump and other Western leaders.
One such campaign reportedly claimed to have gathered millions of dollars under slogans linked to retaliation efforts.
Regional tensions remain extremely high
The latest reports emerge amid continuing instability across West Asia following months of military confrontation involving Iran, Israel and the United States.
The region has witnessed:
- Missile exchanges
- Airstrikes
- Naval disruptions
- Strait of Hormuz tensions
- Energy supply concerns
The geopolitical situation has already pushed global crude oil prices sharply higher and increased fears of broader regional conflict.
Iran says diplomatic talks are still continuing
Despite the inflammatory rhetoric, Iranian officials have also indicated that indirect negotiations with Washington are continuing through diplomatic channels.
Reports suggest discussions remain focused on: Sanctions relief, Nuclear programme limitations, Ceasefire arrangements, Regional military de-escalation and Energy and shipping security.
Iran has reportedly demanded the lifting of sanctions and recognition of its regional security concerns as part of ongoing talks.
Trump previously warned Iran over assassination threats
Trump had previously warned that any Iranian assassination attempt against him would trigger an overwhelming American response. The US has also repeatedly accused Iran-linked groups of cyber campaigns, regional proxy attacks and threats targeting American officials.
Meanwhile, Israel continues to accuse Iran of supporting armed groups operating across the region.
Security analysts say such public statements and reported proposals significantly raise diplomatic tensions even if they are not immediately acted upon. The developments come at a time when multiple countries are attempting to prevent another major escalation in West Asia.
