New Delhi: The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India has categorically dismissed media reports suggesting economic difficulties and shortages of essential commodities in the country.

It stated that despite what it described as “three wars and extensive pressures” against Iran, there has been no disruption in the availability of basic goods or public necessities.

Supply situation remains stable, says Iran

According to the embassy, the procurement, supply and distribution of essential goods in Iran continue in a normal and stable manner under the government’s management.

It credited the administration led by President Masoud Pezeshkian for ensuring uninterrupted supply chains across the country.

“Owing to the effective measures and responsible management of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the leadership of President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the procurement, supply, and distribution of the goods required by the country continue in a normal, stable, and uninterrupted manner,” the statement said.

Call for responsible media reporting

The embassy also urged Indian media organisations to rely on verified and official sources while reporting on Iran.

It specifically cautioned against using certain outlets, alleging that they promote biased narratives against Iran.

The statement said that some media organisations cannot be considered reliable sources for accurately reflecting conditions within the country and encouraged journalists to ensure factual and verified reporting.

The statement comes amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and differing narratives about Iran’s economic situation in international media.

Iran has repeatedly faced scrutiny over its economy due to sanctions and external pressures, while official statements from Tehran continue to assert stability in domestic supply and governance systems.
