Dubai: A fire broke out in a building in the Palm Jumeirah area on Saturday, prompting an emergency response and precautionary safety measures across Dubai, including the evacuation of the Burj Khalifa.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed that emergency teams responded immediately and that the fire has been brought under control. Four individuals sustained injuries and were transferred to medical facilities.

The Dubai Media Office confirming the incident, wrote, “Emergency response teams were deployed immediately and the site has been secured. Dubai Civil Defence has confirmed that the resulting fire is now under control.”

Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the fire, and it remains unclear whether the incident was related to regional military developments or caused by other factors. Investigations are ongoing.

The Burj Khalifa evacuation was carried out as a precautionary measure, amid heightened tensions following the ongoing Israel–Iran conflict and regional security alerts.

Flight operations disrupted

Due to regional airspace closures and safety concerns, operations were temporarily suspended at:

  • Dubai International Airport
  • Al Maktoum International Airport

Airlines including Emirates and flydubai cancelled flights as authorities monitored the situation.

Officials said flight decisions are being taken in coordination with safety directives and regional airspace restrictions.

Government monitoring situation

The UAE Ministry of Defence said it is closely monitoring developments amid rising regional tensions and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting national security.
