Iran’s widening attacks across Gulf nations trigger drone interceptions, airport disruptions and missile alerts.

Fuel storage tanks at Kuwait International Airport were targeted while Saudi Arabia reportedly intercepted and destroyed multiple drones as Iran continued its attacks across parts of the Gulf, a day after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran would not strike neighbouring countries.
Qatar’s Defence Ministry said the country had been targeted the previous day by 10 ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles launched from Iran. Most of them were intercepted and there were no casualties.
Kuwait’s national oil company announced a “precautionary” reduction in crude oil production after the country’s armed forces responded to what it described as a wave of hostile drones entering Kuwaiti airspace. Officials said the drone strike amounted to a direct attempt to target vital infrastructure. Authorities also reported that fragments and debris from interception operations caused material damage to some civilian facilities.
In Saudi Arabia, attempted strikes were reported in several locations, including the diplomatic quarter in Riyadh.
Fresh attacks were also reported in Qatar, while debris from an interception operation reportedly struck a vehicle in Dubai, killing a Pakistani driver. In a rare televised address, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said the country was currently in “a period of war” and expressed confidence that the Emirates would emerge stronger.
Earlier, President Pezeshkian had stated that Iran would not attack neighbouring countries but emphasised that Tehran would not surrender. Hours later, Iran’s judiciary chief said strikes would continue against sites in Gulf countries that were “at the disposal of the enemy”.
Dubai airport disruption
Dubai International Airport — the world’s second busiest airport — was briefly closed after explosions were reported across the city. Passengers were moved into underground train tunnels for safety. A witness told AFP that a loud blast was heard before smoke was seen rising in the area. Dubai’s media office later confirmed that a minor incident occurred after debris fell following an interception.
According to the UAE’s Defence Ministry, 221 ballistic missiles have been detected since the conflict began on February 28, while the number of drones launched has exceeded 1,300. Targets in the UAE have included Dubai airport, Abu Dhabi airport, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab and the US consulate in Dubai.
Saudi drone interceptions
Saudi Arabia’s Defence Ministry said it intercepted three ballistic missiles heading toward Prince Sultan Air Base, which hosts US troops. The military also shot down 17 drones over the Shaybah oil field in the southeast.
Bahrain missile defence
Bahrain reported intercepting 92 missiles and 151 drones since the beginning of what it described as “brutal Iranian aggression.” Residents in the capital Manama have been hearing intermittent explosions.
Beirut strikes
At least four people were killed and 10 injured in a strike on a hotel in Beirut. The health ministry also reported eight deaths in separate strikes affecting more than 20 towns and villages across Lebanon.
The Israeli military said it carried out a “precise strike” in Beirut targeting commanders of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards operating in Lebanon.
Missiles fired at Qatar
Qatar’s Defence Ministry said Iran fired 12 missiles at the country. Six ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles were intercepted, while two ballistic missiles fell into territorial waters and two landed in an uninhabited area.
