A peace-accord lawmaker was on board when a Satena turboprop lost contact just nine minutes after takeoff from Cúcuta. The domestic flight, bound for Ocaña, later crashed in Colombia’s rugged northeast, turning a routine journey into a national tragedy.

A state-run Satena Beechcraft 1900 turboprop carrying 13 passengers and two crew members crashed Wednesday in the rural Norte de Santander region of northeast Colombia, killing everyone on board, authorities confirmed.
