Islamabad: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has announced a major intensification of its armed campaign across Balochistan, claiming responsibility for 22 coordinated attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and state infrastructure over an eight-day period.

In a report published by News18, the separatist group asserted that its operational units had escalated targeted strikes across multiple districts in the volatile south-western province. According to the report, the BLA claimed that its fighters executed roadside improvised explosive device (IED) blasts, ambush operations, and direct assaults on military checkpoints and state facilities within the specified timeframe.

The insurgent outfit stated that the recent surge in violence marks the launch of an expanded phase in its long-running armed campaign against the Pakistani government. The organisation declared that its ongoing operations aim to disrupt military logistics, neutralise state intelligence networks, and challenge federal control over the region's resources.

Pakistani security officials have not independently verified the exact casualty figures or the full scope of the BLA's claims. However, local administrative authorities acknowledged that security measures have been heightened and counter-insurgency sweeps remain underway across several vulnerable districts.

Balochistan, Pakistan's largest province by land area, has been gripped by decades of insurgency led by ethnic Baloch nationalist groups seeking independence or a larger share of regional mineral wealth. The BLA, which is designated as a proscribed terrorist organisation by Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, has routinely conducted attacks against security personnel, state-backed infrastructure projects, and foreign investments in the region.
