The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed that its fighters seized a Pakistani military installation in Gwadar and captured police posts during a coordinated offensive targeting security facilities across the district.

The group announced the launch of ‘Operation Almas’ in a statement issued on Thursday, saying its fighters were engaged in attacks at multiple locations in Gwadar district.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said members of the group’s special Saddo Operational Battalion and other units were participating in the offensive, which he said was continuing on several fronts.

According to the group, the operation began with a large-scale assault on the Pakistan Army’s Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) camp at Gwadar Zero Point. In a subsequent statement, the BLF claimed its fighters had taken control of the installation and raised the group’s flag there.

The group also claimed that a captain from Pakistan’s Military Intelligence (MI) and several personnel from the Special Services Group (SSG) were killed during the fighting. These casualty claims have not been independently verified.

The FWO is a military engineering organisation associated with the Pakistan Army and is involved in infrastructure and construction projects across Pakistan, including in Balochistan.

BLF claims police station seized, convoy attacked

The BLF also claimed that its fighters captured the Mazani police station, seizing government weapons and other equipment. According to spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, a police officer was killed in the clashes.

In a separate incident, the group claimed responsibility for an attack on a Pakistani military convoy in the Gabd area of Gwadar district. It said one military vehicle was destroyed and several Pakistani personnel were killed or injured.

The BLF further claimed that its fighters had captured a police post at Gabd Cross.

The claims regarding the seizure of installations, casualties and damage could not be independently verified.

Operation Almas continues

Major Gwahram Baloch said the offensive was continuing across multiple locations and that further details would be released after it concluded.

The group said a final assessment of casualties and damage would be provided once the operation was over.

There was no information in the supplied statements on the Pakistani authorities’ response to the BLF’s claims.
