Kuwait City: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) in Kuwait has introduced new regulations permitting expatriates aged 60 and above, holding a secondary school certificate or lower, to transfer their residency from family sponsorship (Article 22) to private sector work residency (Article 18).

The decision aims to provide flexibility for businesses while ensuring compliance with existing regulations governing employer transfers.

In a related development, PAM has also approved a provision allowing workers previously employed under government contracts to shift to private sector jobs. As reported by Arab Times, this transition is subject to the completion of their government contracts and requires mutual agreement between the current and prospective employers.

Meanwhile, PAM has released its 2024 labour force statistics, revealing that 31,391 job seekers have registered under Kuwait’s national labour sector across various educational backgrounds.

The data includes 27 individuals with PhDs, 629 with master’s degrees, and 17,927 with bachelor’s degrees. Additionally, 6,805 job seekers hold diplomas, while 823 have intermediate-level qualifications. A total of 83 individuals have vocational or parallel education, and 408 fall under the below-intermediate category. The remaining candidates have either specialised training or relevant work experience.
