Gold prices in India saw a mild decline on Thursday, with 24K gold trading at ₹12,147 per gram in Mumbai, while silver eased to ₹1,50,400 per kg. Experts say the bullion market is entering a phase of consolidation after months of strong rally driven by global factors.

Mumbai: Gold prices in India registered a mild decline on Thursday, reflecting subdued demand and the impact of inflationary pressures.
As per the latest market update, the price of 24-karat gold (999 purity) stands at ₹₹12,147 per gram, while 22-karat gold (91.67% purity)—widely preferred for jewellery—has slipped to ₹₹11,134 per gram.
The price of 18-karat gold is currently ₹9,110 per gram, indicating a slight drop across all purity levels compared to Tuesday’s rates.
After a strong rally in 2025, the price of gold (globally and in India) is entering a phase of consolidation and caution.
According to the World Gold Council the metal rose around 26 % in USD-terms in H1 2025, driven by a weaker US dollar, stable to range-bound interest rates and elevated geopolitical risk.

Silver prices also weakened, settling for ₹150.40 per gram or ₹1,50,400 per kilogram. Despite the short-term pullback, silver continues to enjoy long-term investor confidence amid strong industrial demand and supply constraints.
