Gold and silver prices in India experienced minor declines on Monday, with prices dropping by a rupee or two in most major cities. Market analysts noted the changes are part of routine fluctuations and attributed them to minor shifts in global commodity trends.

Similarly, 22-karat gold is priced at ₹11,184 per gram, while 18-karat gold, also referred to as 999 gold, is valued at ₹9,151 per gram, each showing a drop of ₹1. Silver Price
Turning to silver, the precious metal witnessed a minor decline, reflecting changes in global silver prices. In India today, silver costs ₹152.40 per gram and ₹1,52,400 per kilogram, down ₹0.10 per gram and ₹100 per kilogram from the previous day.
In Kochi and Kozhikode, silver rates are slightly higher at ₹164.90 per gram and ₹1,64,900 per kilogram, showing a similar marginal decline. For other quantities, silver prices are as follows:
- 10 grams: ₹1,524–₹1,649 depending on the city
- 100 grams: ₹15,240–₹16,490
- 1 kilogram: ₹1,52,400–₹1,64,900
In Chennai and Hyderabad, silver costs ₹1,649 per 10 grams, ₹16,490 per 100 grams, and ₹1,64,900 per kilogram. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad reported slightly lower rates of ₹1,524 per 10 grams, ₹15,240 per 100 grams, and ₹1,52,400 per kilogram.
Experts note that such minor fluctuations are common in the Indian bullion market and do not indicate any long-term trends. The slight dip in prices is largely due to minor adjustments in international markets and local demand-supply dynamics.
Investors are advised to monitor prices closely. Traders and jewellery retailers often adjust pricing in small increments to reflect global market conditions, currency fluctuations, and local demand.
Overall, despite the small drops, gold and silver remain a reliable store of value in India, particularly in festive and wedding seasons when demand traditionally spikes. Analysts suggest that buyers can consider these minor declines as an opportunity for investment, while sellers may adopt a cautious approach until market conditions stabilise further.
