New Delhi: In a significant move, the price of commercial LPG used in hotels and restaurants has been reduced by Rs 41 per 19-kg cylinder, bringing some relief to businesses. The revised rate for commercial LPG in the national capital is now Rs 1,762 per 19-kg cylinder, following a monthly price revision based on international benchmark prices.

This reduction follows a Rs 6 per cylinder increase on March 1, and brings down the price from its previous level. In Mumbai, the price for commercial LPG stands at Rs 1,713.50, while in Kolkata and Chennai, it is priced at Rs 1,868.50 and Rs 1,921.50 per cylinder, respectively. The prices vary across states due to local taxes such as VAT.

Meanwhile, the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has also seen a significant reduction, dropping by 6.1 percent, or Rs 5,870.54 per kilolitre, to Rs 89,441.18 in the national capital. The price of ATF in Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata has also been adjusted accordingly, with Mumbai’s price now at Rs 83,575.42 per kilolitre, and the prices in Chennai and Kolkata at Rs 92,503.80 and Rs 91,921 per kilolitre, respectively.

The reductions in ATF prices reverse the increases that occurred since February, offering relief to the aviation industry. However, the price of domestic cooking gas, used in households, remains unchanged at Rs 803 per 14.2-kg cylinder.

Oil companies, including Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), revise fuel prices based on the average cost of international fuel and the foreign exchange rate on the first day of every month. Prices for petrol and diesel, which were reduced by Rs 2 per litre in mid-March last year, remain frozen at Rs 94.72 per litre for petrol and Rs 87.62 per litre for diesel in Delhi.
