Kochi: Air India subsidiary AirAsia India has received approval from the regulatory authorities concerned to operate flight service under the brand name Air India Express.
It paves the way for the proposed legal merger of the two entities. The integration of customer touchpoints, products, and services of both airlines is expected to gain momentum. In turn, it will mutually benefit the airlines to deliver better services to commuters under the same roof.
In March 2023, both entities come up with a common website https://www.airindiaexpress.com/, which became a turning point in the merger.
With 20 Indian cities and 14 international destinations in its network, Air India Express operates more than 600 flights a week. On the other hand, AirAsia flies over 50 direct and 100 connecting routes across India.
