Pathanamthitta: Kerala-based YouTuber Rajan Joseph has been arrested for a second time after police alleged that he uploaded another defamatory video targeting Congress leader Sreenadevi Kunjamma on the same day he secured bail in an earlier case.

Kerala-based YouTuber and social media commentator Rajan Joseph was arrested again by the Adoor Police after allegedly posting another video targeting Congress Pathanamthitta District Panchayat member Sreenadevi Kunjamma shortly after being released on bail in an earlier case.

Police said Rajan Joseph was taken into custody from Ernakulam on Thursday night and brought to the Adoor Police Station. Another individual identified as Siby has also been named in the latest complaint.

What is the case against Rajan Joseph?

The case began after Sreenadevi Kunjamma lodged a complaint alleging that Rajan Joseph made defamatory and insulting remarks about her in a YouTube video. Based on the complaint, the Adoor Police registered a case under non-bailable sections and launched a search for the YouTuber, who was later arrested.

After being produced before a court, Rajan Joseph was granted bail.

According to the police, Rajan Joseph allegedly uploaded another video targeting Sreenadevi Kunjamma on the very day he was released on bail. Investigators claim the new video repeated the same allegedly defamatory content that had led to the earlier criminal case.

As a result, police registered fresh proceedings and travelled to Ernakulam to arrest him again.

Police said the investigation is continuing into both the original complaint and the fresh allegations. Rajan Joseph remains in police custody as legal proceedings continue, while authorities are also examining the role of the second accused, Siby, in connection with the latest complaint.
