Gangster Himanshu Bhau, wanted by Haryana and Delhi Police in multiple murder and organised crime cases, has been arrested by the FBI in the United States.

Gangster Himanshu Bhau, wanted in India in connection with multiple murder, extortion and organised crime cases, has reportedly been arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States.
Bhau, who has been on the most-wanted lists of Delhi and Haryana Police, is accused of running a criminal network with associates operating across parts of north India. An Interpol Red Notice was issued against him in 2023, according to media reports.
His reported arrest could be an important development in the efforts to bring the fugitive back to India to face criminal proceedings. However, details of the legal process that may follow have not been officially confirmed in the information available.
Who is Himanshu Bhau?
Himanshu Bhau is a Haryana-based gangster accused in several cases involving murder, attempted murder, extortion and criminal intimidation. His alleged criminal network has been linked to cases across Haryana, Delhi and neighbouring regions.
Police have alleged that Bhau continued to operate through associates after leaving India.
According to reports, he allegedly obtained a passport using forged documents before fleeing the country. Investigators have also examined whether members of his network carried out crimes in India while he remained abroad.
Cases linked to the Himanshu Bhau gang
The gang has figured in investigations into shootings and killings in the Delhi-NCR region. Police have also examined social media posts attributed to the group that claimed responsibility for violent attacks.
One such incident was the firing outside YouTuber Elvish Yadav's residence in Gurugram, for which a post attributed to the Himanshu Bhau gang reportedly claimed responsibility. Such claims do not, by themselves, establish who ordered or carried out an attack.
In another case, police investigated the murder of a gym trainer in south Delhi's Aya Nagar in September, including a social media post purportedly claiming responsibility on behalf of Bhau. Four alleged members of the gang were also arrested in connection with the murder of dairy businessman Ratan Lohia, according to police sources.
Will Himanshu Bhau be brought to India?
The reported arrest raises the prospect of further legal action against Bhau in connection with cases registered in India. Bringing him back would require the relevant legal procedures and decisions by the authorities in the US and India.
An arrest abroad does not mean immediate extradition. Further details about the arrest and any formal steps towards his return remain to be confirmed.
