The inspection is being carried out in houses where construction has been fully completed

Kalpetta: A joint inspection by officials of the Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society (ULCCS) and KIFCON begins on Monday in 102 of the 178 houses handed over to first-phase beneficiaries in the Mundakkai–Chooralmala Township.
The inspection is being carried out in houses where construction has been fully completed. Further inspection will be conducted in the presence of beneficiaries before the homes are occupied. The process is being undertaken in three phases to ensure that no construction defects remain.
In the first phase, ULCCS officials will conduct the inspection, followed by a review by KIFCON authorities. Beneficiaries will be included in the final phase of inspection.
In houses where water seepage was identified during ULCCS inspections, remedial measures have already been initiated. The affected areas have been marked, and pressure grouting has been carried out. This will be followed by waterproofing and screed concreting (process of leveling and smoothing freshly poured concrete by removing excess material using a straightedge (screed) moved across guides or forms).
