Kozhikode: A case has been registered against ambulance driver Arjun in connection with the accident which occurred this morning in which a woman named Sulochana (57) was killed. The Nadapuram native was charred to death as the vehicle went up in flames.      

The CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced.

The incident took place at approximately 3:20 a.m. when the ambulance collided with a transformer while transporting Sulochana from Malabar Medical College to Aster MIMS for surgery.

The impact of the crash was so severe that it caused the ambulance to burst into flames, trapping the patient inside. The mishap also resulted in injuries to six other persons, including the ambulance staff and co-passengers. Reports suggest that the ambulance may have lost control due to heavy rain, leading to the tragic collision. 

The injured are being treated at the hospital. Four of them were later discharged from the hospital. Sulochana's husband, Surendran, and a nursing assistant are still undergoing treatment at the hospital.
