Palakkad: The CPM has postponed the area committee conference at Puthussery which is popular as a stronghold of the party. The conference scheduled for November 27, 28 has been put off due to the factional feud that surfaced in the branch- local committee meetings. The two-member commission which conducted an inquiry over the rising dispute in the party also suggested postponing the area committee conference.
The local conferences of Elappully and Walayar which come under Puthussery area committee had ended up in conflicts. In the local committee conference of Walayar, party workers protested against the decision to split the committee into two. The conference at Elappully was also cancelled.
Earlier, Palakkad district secretariat had nullified the split of the local committee in Walayar and Elappally. The action had been taken as per the complaint of A Prabhakaran MLA pointing to the grave factional feud under the area committee of Puthussery.
