Thiruvananthapuram: Indian Railways have announced special trains from the state capital for those returning after taking part in the 'Attukal Pongala' event on Sunday.

A special train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram station at 3:30 PM on Sunday and reach Ernakulam by 8:15 PM. The trains (12624, 12696), which will leave for Chennai from Thiruvananthapuram at 3 PM and 5:15 PM, will have additional stops in Kazhakkoottam, Chirayikeezhu and Kadakkavoor.   

The Jamnagar-Tirunelveli Express (19578), which will start from Thiruvananthapuram at 2:30 PM, will have additional stops at Balaramapuram, Neyyattinkara, Kuzhithurai and Eraniel.      

Similarly, the Kollam-Chennai Ananthapuri Express (20636) will have additional stops at Nemom, Balaramapuram, Dhanuvachapuram and Palliyadi.

KSRTC is operating 300 bus services on the occasion of Attukal Pongala.
