Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: As part of the state government's action plan to improve public transport facilities, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has invited institutions and individuals to sponsor new buses.

Local self-government bodies, cooperative institutions, companies, trusts, CSR funds, voluntary and social organisations, clubs and business establishments can participate in the bus sponsorship programme. KSRTC said the initiative offers organisations an opportunity to support the public transport sector as part of their social responsibility.

Under the sponsorship guidelines, buses ranging from 9 metres to 15 metres in length can be provided to KSRTC, depending on its requirements. The available categories include AC premium buses, Super Fast, Fast Passenger, Short Distance Fast Passenger, AC seater and AC sleeper buses.

Sponsors will also have an opportunity to display their organisation's name or brand on the buses, subject to specified guidelines, and make use of advertising opportunities. The painting, livery and advertisements on the buses will have to comply with KSRTC's regulations.

The newly sponsored buses will be deployed on routes and in areas where they are most needed, with the aim of providing better services to the public.

According to a KSRTC’s press release, the sponsorship process will be governed by the corporation's prescribed conditions and technical standards.

Detailed terms and technical specifications will be applicable as per the guidelines issued by KSRTC. KSRTC has asked those seeking information or assistance regarding bus sponsorship to contact its marketing executives.
