Kochi: Three pilgrims drowned to death in Malayattoor here in two different incidents on Saturday. The deceased were identified as Mani and Ronald hailing from Ooty in Tamil Nadu, and Vypin native Sanoj.

Mani and Ronald were part of a five-member team of pilgrims who stepped into a river in Malayattoor to take bath. Both of them were caught in the river currents. The bodies that were recovered later were preserved at St Thomas Hospital at Malayattoor here.

Earlier on the day, similarly Sanoj had drowned to death in Illithodu River in Malayattoor.
