Thiruvananthapuram–Kozhikode Jan Shatabdi Express stranded for hours due to engine failure in Thrissur. Passengers inconvenienced by technical snag.

Thrissur: The Thiruvananthapuram–Kozhikode Jan Shatabdi Express was stranded for hours on Friday after suffering an engine failure between Wadakkancherry and Mullurkara in Thrissur district.
According to railway officials, the train came to a halt mid-route due to a technical snag, causing severe inconvenience to passengers. The train reportedly remained stuck on the tracks for nearly three hours before engineers began repair work to resolve the issue.
Authorities said efforts are underway to fix the problem and resume the train’s journey as soon as possible. As a result, the return trip from Kozhikode to Thiruvananthapuram, scheduled for 1.45 pm, is also expected to be delayed.
Passengers expressed frustration over the long delay. Officials have assured that the Jan Shatabdi Express service will be restored to normal operations once the technical fault is rectified.
