The icons of Malayalam cinema, Mammootty and Mohanlal, have extended their warmest wishes to Kerala’s Chief Minister-designate V D Satheesan. Both actors took to social media to share photos of the leader alongside their congratulatory messages following his historic appointment.
Mammootty’s concise tribute

Mammootty kept his tribute brief and impactful, sharing a photograph of Satheesan holding a book. His one-line caption read: "Heartfelt wishes to V D Satheesan, who has been appointed as the 13th Chief Minister of Kerala." The choice of imagery highlighted the scholarly and composed side of the newly appointed leader.
 

Mohanlal visions a path of development

Mohanlal shared a more vibrant image showing a massive crowd carrying the Chief Minister-designate on their shoulders, capturing the public’s enthusiasm. In his message, he wrote: "Loving wishes to the Chief Minister-designate of Kerala, V D Satheesan. May his leadership be able to guide the state toward a new path of development."

End of political uncertainty

The official announcement regarding V D Satheesan’s appointment as the Congress Parliamentary Party leader was made at a press conference at the Congress headquarters in Delhi around 12.00 pm on Thursday. This decision brought an end to 11 days of political deliberation. While the Congress High Command had considered other senior figures, including AICC general secretary K C Venugopal and veteran leader Ramesh Chennithala, Satheesan ultimately emerged as the choice for the top post.
