Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan welcomed the High Court’s interim order on Sprinklr contract on Friday. He noted that the court order has rejected all the allegations raised by the Opposition over the contract.

Addressing a press meet here, he stated that the copy of the order was not received yet and so he won’t be able to comment on it in detail.

“Opposition’s plea before the High Court demanded to cancel the contract and to put a hold on the activities related to it. But the court did not accept these demands and asked the government to continue with the contract. The government will continue with the contract as directed,” said Chief Minister.

He pointed out that the government has taken a firm stand regarding data privacy. The matter was informed to the court through an affidavit. The government gives priority to protect personal data of the public. CM also assured that no lapses will occur in it.

At the same time the Chief Minister dismissed the argument saying health workers were disappointed over the Sprinklr contract.

“We are still facing the threat from COVID-19. If the situation continues, the number of patients will rise. Data analysis is necessary to identify the infected people and provide treatment to them. Health workers won’t be able to analyze the data,” said Pinarayi Vijayan.

‘Sprinklr is helping us to defend COVID-19. Nobody will object to seeking help from a company like Sprinklr in these times of emergency. However, some people are worried about data breach. It is natural. So the government has taken all necessary measures to protect data,” he added.
