Kottayam: Former Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan stated that senior Congress leader Oommen Chandy is innocent in the solar case. Brushing off the remark mentioned in the report of Justice Sivarajan Commission, that he intervened in the probe to protect the former Chief Minister, Thiruvanchoor told Mathrubhmi News that it was just an allegation against a former minister.

“Oommen Chandy’s hands are clean. Even when his innocence is 100 percent clear, the LDF government is turning a blind eye towards it. When Pinarayi Vijayan came to know there was no truth in these allegations, CPM had called off the Secretariat siege,” he added.

The arrest of the personal staff of then CM Chandy in the solar case had taken place while Thiruvanchoor was the Home Minister.

He also alleged that CPM announcing a CBI probe into solar scam was a politically motivated move in view of the upcoming Assembly elections.
