Palakkad: In the upcoming assembly election, expected to be held in 2026, the BJP aims to send at least 25 MLAs to the state assembly, said  BJP state vice president Sobha Surendran. She made this statement during an election campaign in Palakkad on Tuesday while speaking to Mathrubhumi News. “I have started my work with this goal in mind,” she said.

“I am engaged in the  huge task of ensuring that at least 25 BJP MLAs are elected to the state assembly. There will be some surprises as well; some prominent figures from other parties are likely to join that team. I won’t reveal their names as of now,” Sobha added. “If my party decides, I would also like to be on that list,” she noted.

“There is no confusion within the party in Palakkad regarding the choice of candidate in the constituency. When the party announces a candidate, all party workers are expected to unite and work with commitment for the candidate's victory. I am not someone who harbors dreams of contesting in elections. That’s why I have come here even though my mother is unwell,” Sobha said. “Had I not come, my absence would have been misinterpreted,” she explained.

She has come to Palakkad to campaign for BJP candidate C. Krishnakumar and participated in an election convention where she captivated the audience with her fiery speech against the CPM and Congress.
