Kollam: Sandeep, who murdered a female doctor at Kottarakkara taluk hospital, was acting out when police took him away to the hospital, said a native.

At 2 am on Wednesday, Sandeep jumped over the compound wall of Sreekumar's house and hid near the work area of the house. Sreekumar called neighbours and a local CPM leader. They tried to persuade Sandeep to come out, but he claimed someone was attacking him. He also claimed to have witnessed many incidents, including a murder

Sreekumar said Sandeep ran around his house shouting 'Oh, save me.'

According to Veliyam grama panchayat president R Prasanth, Sandeep may have injured his leg while jumping over the wall. He had no previous history of causing any problems, but he claimed to have a tendency to drink. However, Sreekumar said he could not smell anything at that time.

Police and natives said Sandeep himself called the force for help. Sandeep was later taken to hospital where he attacked the doctor and several others, including cops.
