Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Administrative Reforms Commission has recommended the state government to revise the fair value/price of land every five years. The recommendation comes in the wake of the finding that improper price revision has been causing financial loss to the state government.

It may be noted that the land fair price was last revised in 2010. Thereafter, the rate witnessed six hikes. This was based on percentage-level updation. The method was apparently not scientific. The new recommendation has been pitched as a solution to resolve this issue.

The reforms panel put forward other recommendations related to the fair price of land. District-level committees should be formed to estimate the land price The committees should consider infrastructure projects and road accessibility for estimating the price, it said.
