Thiruvanathapuram: The remand report in the Pettah child abduction case stated that the toddler could suffer from neurogenic shock as a result of the trauma she experienced while being abandoned in a secluded area by the abductor. It further stated that the child could have died of suffocation when the accused, Hassan Kutty alias Kabir, tried to gag her.

There were also chances for the child to have died as the creatinine and urea levels had gone up due to dehydration, the report added. The accused had left the child in a gutter with an intention to kill her, the remand report alleged.

The police will demand his custody for evidence collection on Tuesday.

Hassan Kutty, a history-sheeter with eight cases, including a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) case,  was remanded for 18 days by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Elsa Catherine George.
