Kalpetta, Wayanad: After her decisive victory in the Lok Sabha bypolls, newly elected Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi is planning to set up a house and office in the district. The setup will be similar to the home and office facilities Sonia Gandhi has in Rae Bareli, focusing on security and convenience, as Priyanka intends to spend more time in Wayanad.

The search for a suitable house is underway, with informal inquiries already made to major local leaders. Unlike her brother Rahul Gandhi, who typically stayed in PWD rest houses or resorts during his visits, Priyanka seeks a more permanent setup. Rahul’s previous stays were limited due to lack of adequate facilities for workers accompanying him. With fewer national responsibilities compared to Rahul, Priyanka aims to focus on her constituency and address these gaps.

Plans for MP office and meeting spaces

Priyanka Gandhi is looking for a residence as well as facilities such as an MP office, space for official and party meetings, a conference room, and a dedicated area for public interactions. Sources suggest that she is considering Kalpetta as the location for her office, similar to the structure she previously coordinated for Sonia Gandhi’s office in Rae Bareli.

During her campaign, Priyanka stayed at various resorts in the region. The details of her new house are expected to be finalised soon after she takes the oath of office
