
Thiruvananthapuram: First Bell 2.0, the virtual classes for the academic session for schools in the state, commenced on Tuesday morning with chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurating the Praveshanolsavam or the welcome ceremony online. He said that as the classes for the academic year is being held online, the enthusiasm of children must not decline.
Welcoming students to the online classes, Pinarayi Vijayan said classes will be conducted online and children can learn sitting at homes itself. The CM also reminded the children of the crisis and the challenges lying ahead.
Pinarayi Vijayan is taking part in the praveshanolsavam for the sixth time after becoming the chief minister. “The new world is the world of children. Children must shape tomorrow’s world with their new ideas,” the CM said.
When the CM inaugurated the welcome ceremony online, a decorated stage was set up at the Cotton Hills school in Thiruvananthapuram where education minister V Sivankutty lighted the traditional lamp. The minister said that students can reach schools once the Covid scare eases.
Last year too, classes took an online route due to the first wave of the pandemic. Trial classes for class I to X will be held from Wednesday to Friday. Trial classes will be held for 2 weeks to ensure all students have access to classes. Based on the feedback, the main classes will begin later.
