Police release video to counter Afsana’s allegation of custodial torture

Pathanamthitta: The Kerala police have released a video following the allegation of Afsana that the police physically tortured her for confessing to murdering her husband Noushad. The allegation was raised following Naushad's reappearance.

In the video footage of evidence gathering at a house in Adoor, Afsana narrates the events to the police. The video, lasting four minutes, was captured last Thursday.

In the video, Afsana explains an alleged incident of domestic violence that occurred twenty months ago, stating that Naushad beat her. In a counterattack, Noushad lost consciousness and fell on the floor. Rajesh, who was informed of the incident, arrived at the scene and, upon confirming Naushad's death, buried the body near the house, she says in the video.

Afsana claims that the police forced her into admitting she killed Noushad, and beat her severely during the interrogation. She states that the search conducted for Noushad's remains was not based on her statements. Afsana asserts that everything was orchestrated by the police. 

Meanwhile, Naushad clarified that he would not support Afsana in the matter, stating that it is between her and the police. He denied any involvement but claimed that Afsana’s friends had assaulted him.

Naushad mentioned that he was attacked by locals Shafeeq and Sufi. He believes they left him for dead. This forced him to abscond.

On the other hand, Afsana denies any wrongdoing, stating that she cannot harm her husband.
