Alappuzha: Afsana, who claimed to have murdered her husband Noushad, has now levelled serious allegations against the police officials who investigated the case. She alleged that she was brutally beaten up in custody and also accused the cops of spraying pepper spray into her mouth during interrogation. The human rights commission has demanded an inquiry into the incident.
Following Afsana’s revelations, human rights commission member V K Beenakumari has asked DGP to submit a report in connection with the incident within 15 days. The commission registered case by itself in the incident on the basis of news report.
It should be noted that Noushad who had gone missing from Pathanamthitta one-and-half years ago was finally located in Thommankuthu in Thodupuzha. The day before he was found police had informed the media of Afsana’s alleged confession of killing her husband.
