Pathanamthitta: A woman SI from Koodal station was asked to write an imposition for failing to answer a question about the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) posed by the District Police Chief of Pathanamthitta. The SI was directed to write the answer on white paper and email a picture of it. This incident took place during an online meeting held by the district police chief with station officers, where they report incidents and cases from the past 24 hours.

During a meeting five days ago, the female SI narrated an incident from the Koodal station limits. When the SP inquired about the relevant section of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the SI was unable to respond. The SP then provided the details and asked her to write them on white paper and email it. It was reported that the SI wrote the answer twenty times and sent a picture of it.

Several trainings were organized for the officers on the new criminal law, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The SP commented on the incident with a burst of laughter, noting that such actions are not new in the police force. He suggested that the media attention made it seem unusual, but it was intended with good intentions. The SP added that he had instructed the SI to write and mail the details twice, and she complied.
