Palakkad, Kerala: In a poignant moment of grief, the four friends who lost their lives in the horrific accident were laid to rest together, symbolising their inseparable bond in both life and death. Rida Fathima, Irfana Sherin, Nida Fathima, and Ayisha, all eighth-standard students, were buried side by side at the Thuppanad Juma Masjid graveyard.
The girls, who had just completed their Christmas exams, were walking along the Palakkad-Kozhikode National Highway when a goods lorry lost control and crashed into them. The incident occurred on Thursday evening. The bodies of the young students were brought to their homes on Friday morning before being moved to the Thuppanad Karimbanakkal Hall for public viewing. People from across the state, along with local dignitaries, came to pay their respects.
