Palakkad: The tragic accident in Palakkad, which claimed the lives of four schoolgirls during heavy rainfall, has left Kerala in shock. Ajna, the survivor of the incident, vividly recalled the harrowing moment when she narrowly escaped death, while her four friends—Irfana, Aysha, Rida Fathima, and Nida Fathima—tragically lost their lives.

"The lorry came when we were all walking. I fell into a ditch nearby when it hit me. Irfana's mother was the first to rush over and help me after the accident," Ajna recalled, clearly still in shock. She struggled with the painful reality of losing her four friends and expressed regret at not being able to save them.

Ajna’s words were filled with sorrow, especially when she thought of Irfana’s mother, who had witnessed the accident. The mother, who had been on a visit to a dentist, had seen the children walking just moments before the tragedy. After the lorry hit the children, she rushed to help Ajna, who had fallen to the ground and was later assisted by locals who helped notify her family.

Ajna added that her friends' writing pads and umbrellas were kept in her bag. They had even bought sweets from a nearby shop and were walking away with a playful smile before the tragic event unfolded.
