Thrissur: Kerala Sahitya Akademi launched ‘Vaayanamoola’ (reader’s corner), to allow small publishers to introduce their books to the readers. The academy has started a special section on its website for the same.

Notably, the initiative is the brainchild of former secretary KP Mohanan. The new administration is in full swing to materialize his idea. Interestingly, by now, many publishers have uploaded details of their books through the website.

It is a difficult task for small publishers, especially those from economically backward sections, to provide books to the academy. The new section in the website will eliminate this problem and publishers can introduce their books to the readers.

By logging in to https://keralasahityaakademi.org/puthiya-pusthakangal-samarpikuka/, they can upload the name of the book, the publisher’s name, price of the book, cover image, publisher’s website and phone number. The website visitors will also have an option to interact with the publishers and to purchase books.

‘Vaayanamoola’ was included in the website as a part of its revamp. Kerala Sahitya Akademi also eyes at establishing an extensive library in which all Malayalam books will be available.
